Morrisville My Hometown
www.scenicbuckscounty.com/Morrisville/Morrisville.html
Morrisville, Pennsylvania was a focal point in U.S. history and almost the capital of United States, losing by only two votes. Directly across the Delaware River from Trenton, N.J. Morrisville was the ideal location for George Washington to plan his historic crossing of the Delaware River on Christmas night to attack the Hessians in Trenton. Hundreds of years earlier this area was known to the local Indians as the Falls of the Delaware, as this point in the Delaware marks the start of tidal waters. In colonial days Morrisville was on the major route between New York and Philadelphia. Because of this, there were several ferrys operating in the area, and at that time Morrisville was known as Colvin's Ferry. Not only is Morrisville steeped in history, but today it is also a great place to live and raise a family. Home town USA is alive and well in Morrisville. |
